7 Thousand Disabled In Central Jakarta Recorded As Voters During The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - As many as 7,000 disabled voters in Central Jakarta (Jakpus) will certainly participate in the 2024 general election (Pemilu). This has been officially conveyed by the General Election Commission (KPU) of Central Jakarta.

"Our note is that there are 7000 disabled voters in Central Jakarta from various categories. Basically, the 2024 election has a disability-friendly slogan," said Head of the Socialization Division for Voter Education and Community Participation and Human Resources of the Central Jakarta KPU, Sahat Dohar Manullang when confirmed, Tuesday, February 6.

According to him, the voters will be able to vote in a number of polling stations (TPS) spread across Central Jakarta. However, not all polling stations, there are several polling stations that are friendly to be disabled.

"Not all polling stations are disabled but indeed there are things that have been prepared for disabled voters so they can vote," he said.

Sahat said, later officers must ensure that the wheelchair can pass through the door without obstacles. In addition, the sound booth table must also be easily reached.

"Like our previous promise, if there are people with disabilities who want to be the organizers, we are also accommodating. Now there are our administrators with disabilities, of course we will adjust them for their abilities," he said.

Later, a member of the Disability Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) will serve at KPPS 7.

"The task is to ensure that voters do ink bags on their fingers after they finish voting," he said.

Meanwhile, the KPU has also assigned KPPS officers to be on standby to assist disabled voters.
