TERNATE - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak holds the title of Sultanate of Ternate, Kapita Ahi Besi Malamo (Large Commander of the Army).

Accompanied by the General Chairperson (Ketum) of Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana (KCK) Uli Simanjuntak, the Army Chief of Staff received the awarding of the traditional title, which was pinned directly by His Majesty Sultan Ternate Hidayatullah Sjah. The title awarding procession begins with Joko Kaha's tradition, namely tradition as a form of respect for guests, especially the leader of the country or kingdom, who visited Ternate.

The procession was continued by reading the script for the traditional title, and the peak of the inauguration of the Ngguare Lastar/Ternate headband to the Army Chief of Staff.

The Army Chief of Staff in his speech expressed his respect and pride for the awarding of the Indigenous title of the Sultanate of Ternate given to him. Not to forget, the four-star general also revealed that the Indonesian Army has various programs aimed at improving the welfare of the community, including Ternate residents.

"Hopefully this honor can remind me to always hold activities at Ternate. Because we in the Indonesian Army have many programs that can improve people's lives. We have tried to do that in several places, and the results are quite good," he said, quoted from a written statement, Monday, February 5.

At that moment, the Army Chief of Staff also appreciated the emergence of great generations born from four kingdoms in Maluku, namely Ternate, Tidore, Jailolo and Bacan. For this reason, Kasad hopes that Ternate youths will be able to fill positions in the TNI at various levels/levels.

Meanwhile, Sultan Ternate explained that the awarding of the title 'Kapita Ahi Besi Malamo' to the Army Chief of Staff was based on an assessment of the actions of the deceased, accompanied by the hope that Kasad would later become a great leader with a very strong character, so that he could guard and protect the Indonesian nation into a great, noble and sovereign nation.

"Hopefully the presence of the Army Chief of Staff and Mrs. Uli Simanjuntak, as well as the Military Commander, Danrem and their staff, can bring blessings to the Sultanate of Ternate. It can be even stronger to maintain customs in maintaining the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.
