Bahlil Response To Distributing Social Assistance Is Criticized: Don't Limit The President's Movement Room To Be Close To The People

JAKARTA - Head of the Strategic Working Team (TKS) for presidential and vice presidential candidates number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Bahlil Lahadalia, asked no party to limit President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s space for movement to be close to the people.

This was conveyed by Bahlil in response to the criticism made by a number of parties regarding the recent handover of social assistance by President Joko Widodo.

"The president should not also be limited in his space for contact with the people. And (the provision of social assistance by the President) has been going on for a long time. Maybe the presidential candidate who criticizes it may be a presidential candidate who wants to work on a table, does not want to go to the field. Mr. Jokowi is different, Mr. Jokowi wants to work in the field," Bahlil explained as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 5.

He emphasized that the distribution of social assistance had been carried out for a long time. According to Bahlil, the distribution of social assistance carried out by the President and the minister is fine.

Bahlil emphasized that those who criticized the distribution of social assistance could mean that the party was not happy that the community received assistance.

"Why should it be questioned. That person is for them. We should not feel ourselves that our lives are the same as those of others," he said.
