KPK Investigate Alleged Flow Of Corruption Money BPPD Sidoarjo To Regent Muhdlor

JAKARTA - Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that his party was investigating the alleged flow of money resulting from corruption by the Head of the General Subdivision and Personnel of the Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD) of Sidoarjo Regency Siska Wati (SW) to Sidoarjo Regent Ahmad Muhdlor Ali.

This was investigated by the KPK during an examination of the Head of the Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD) of Sidoarjo Regency Ari Suryono at the KPK's Merah Putih building, South Jakarta, Friday, February 2.

Ali explained, initially Ari was examined about the cut in incentives for Sidoarjo BPPD employees by Siska Wati.

"Witnesses of the Head of the Sidoarjo BPPD Ari Suryono were present and confirmed, among other things, related to the alleged cuts in incentive funds within the Sidoarjo Regency Government BPPD," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri as quoted by ANTARA.

Ali then revealed that one of the other materials that investigators studied during the examination of Ari Suryono was the question of allegedly using the money from corruption for the needs of the Sidoarjo Regent.

"The involvement of suspect SW as the collector treasurer and recipient of the incentive funds from ASN, was investigated by the alleged submission of the money for the needs of the Sidoarjo Regent," said Ali.

However, Ali has not provided further information about the findings of the anti-corruption agency investigation team during the examination.

KPK investigators on Monday (29/1/2024) have named a suspect and detained the Head of the General Subdivision and Personnel of the Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD) of Sidoarjo Regency, Siska Wati (SW) in the alleged corruption case of cutting employee incentives within the BPPD of Sidoarjo Regency, East Java.

Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, explained that the determination of the suspect against Siska Wati began with public reports about allegations of corruption in the form of cutting incentives and receiving money within the BPPD of Sidoarjo Regency.

The report was then studied by the KPK team and on Thursday (25/1) information was obtained that a cash transfer had occurred to SW.

Based on this information, the KPK conducted a hand arrest operation (OTT) of 10 people in the Sidoarjo Regency area.

In the OTT, this cash was secured in the amount of around Rp. 69.9 million from the alleged deduction and receipt of around Rp. 2.7 billion in 2023.

The parties along with the evidence were then taken to the KPK's Merah Putih building for further investigation and until finally the suspect status was determined against Siska Wati.

Ghufron explained that the case began in 2023. At that time, the amount of BPPD tax revenue in Sidoarjo Regency reached Rp1.3 trillion and for this acquisition, ASN who served in BPPD will receive incentive funds.

However, Siska Wati as the Head of the General Subdivision and Personnel of the BPPD as well as the treasurer unilaterally cut the incentive funds from the ASN.

The cuts and receipts from the incentive funds include the needs of the Head of BPPD and the Regent of Sidoarjo.

The request for this incentive discount was conveyed verbally by SW to ASN on several occasions and there was a ban on not discussing the intended deduction through communication tools, including via WhatsApp conversations.

The amount of the discount imposed reached 10-30 percent in accordance with the amount of incentives received.

The handover of the money was carried out in cash and coordinated by each designated treasurer in the field of regional taxes and the secretariat.

Especially in 2023, SW was able to collect deductions and receipts of incentive funds from ASN in the amount of around Rp. 2.7 billion.

As preliminary evidence, the amount of Rp. 69.9 million received by SW will be used as an entry point for further investigation and investigation.
