Fired From DPD Members, This Is Arya Wedakarna's Response

DENPASAR - The Honorary Board (BK) of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) dismissed the member of the Bali electoral district DPD, Arya Wedakarna alias AWK as a member.

Arya Wedakarna said he was proud to be fired by the DPD BK because of a report from the Bali Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

"I am proud to be fired by the DPD RI because of the MUI report, after all, it is Balinese Hindus," said Arya Wedakarna, Friday, February 2.

The decision to permanent dismissal Arya Wedakarna as a member of the DPD was read out by the Deputy Chairperson of the BK DPD Made Mangku Pastika.

Arya Wedakarna was dismissed based on Article 48, Paragraphs 1 and 2 of the DPD RI Regulation Number 1 of 2021 of the Honorary Board of the DPD RI.

"It has been decided and determined that the defendant Shri I Gusti Ngurah Arya Wedakarna Mahendradatta Wedasteraputra Suyasa, a member of the DPD RI from Bali Province was proven to have violated the oath of office and code of ethics and/or the rules of the DPD RI as regulated in the MD3 Law with severe sanctions of permanent dismissal as a member of the DPD RI," said Mangku Pastika who is also the former Governor of Bali.
