Resigning From The Cabinet, Mahfud Also Fired 4 Staff Of The Coordinating Minister For Political, Legal And Security Affairs

Mahfud MD chose to resign from his position as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs approximately two weeks before voting for the 2024 General Election. (Diah a-VOI)

Mahfud MD announced that he participated in firing four special staff (stafsus) of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) when he made his position in the cabinet.

They are Rizal Mustary as the Special Staff of the Coordinating Minister for Communication, Budi Kuncoro as the Special Staff of the Coordinating Minister for Institutional Cooperation, Imam Marsudi as the Special Staff of the Coordinating Minister for Social Culture, and Erwin Moeslimin as the Special Staff of the Coordinating Minister for Law and Politics.

"Starting today, I will fire all of my special staff," said Mahfud during a farewell at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs office, Central Jakarta, Friday, February 2.

Mahfud admitted that the four staff had worked with him for a long time. Mahfud also took them to the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.

On that basis, the dismissal of the four staff members at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs was carried out so that they remained attached with Mahfud, who has become the candidate for vice president number 3.

"I have asked for a letter of dismissal because I brought them to stick to me for a long time and the appointment," explained Mahfud.

"This is indeed the full authority of a Coordinating Minister, there is no need for permission to dismiss it," continued the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court.

Today, Mahfud said goodbye to the ranks of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs in the ceremony after exercising with employees. After giving a farewell speech, Mahfud packed the items that had been in his office.
