North Sumatra Bawaslu Strictly Monitors The Logistics Distribution Of The 2024 Election

The General Election Agency of North Sumatra Province asked the sub-district, kelurahan/village, and supervisors of polling stations to carry out inherent supervision related to the distribution of logistics for the 2024 General Election.

The Coordinator of the Public Relations Division, North Sumatra Bawaslu Information Data, Saut Boangmanalu, said that his party has intensified the supervision of logistics for the 2024 General Election Commission which will be distributed to sub-district election committees in 33 districts/cities throughout North Sumatra.

"We carry out close supervision involving the ranks down to the lower level so that distribution can be achieved no later than one day before the voting," said Saut as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, February 1.

He said that targeting accuracy, time, number and type must really be the focus of attention so that distribution runs smoothly.

"So that later the distribution to the mentioned places is really smooth and logical until on time," he said.

According to him, there are a number of areas that are of special concern to Bawaslu in conducting logistical surveillance, namely archipelagic areas that use sea transportation.

Logistics that will be distributed using sea transportation tend to experience a high level of risk due to weather changes.

"There are several places that are of concern to us, areas that use sea transportation, because at any time there can be weather changes and it becomes our concern," he said.

He reminded the KPU and its ranks to prioritize accuracy and accuracy in the distribution of logistics so that there are no obstacles in the voting process later.

"Bawaslu establishes the best possible communication with the KPU, because communication is a keyword so that the distribution process runs well or in accordance with the regulations that have been set," he said.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the Human Resources and Research and Development Division of the North Sumatra Province KPU, Robby Effendi, said that all election logistics would be distributed on February 1, 2024, and arrived at the polling station no later than February 13, 2024.

During the distribution of ballots, said Robby, his party involved elements of the TNI/Polri and local governments to help carry out security measures.

"The election logistics are ensured to be stored safely because they are under strict supervision and security," he said.
