Kejari Medan Seizes IDR 16 Billion Of PT KAI Assets

The Medan District Attorney (Kejari), North Sumatra, rescued assets belonging to PT KAI worth Rp. 16,244,050,000 in the form of land and buildings on Jalan Sutomo, East Medan District.

"The land confiscated today, covering an area of 1,275 m2 and a building area of 235.45 m2," said Head of the Medan Kejari Muttaqin Harahap as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 1.

Muttaqin said this activity was in order to save assets belonging to PT KAI through a mechanism for the special crime section (Pidsus) in collaboration with BPK RI.

"From this activity, the Medan Kejari succeeded in restoring state assets of Rp. 16,244,050,000," said the former Banten Attorney General's Office.

Muttaqin appealed to the public and parties who control state assets or government property in a way that is not or against the law to be returned immediately.

"Unlawful actions that cause state financial losses can be subject to criminal penalties in accordance with the law," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Vice President of PT KAI Divre 1 North Sumatra, Teguh, appreciated the actions taken by the Medan Kejari in saving the country's assets.

"The asset has been controlled in 2007, so so far the place has been rented for workshops," he said.

Previously, the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) had saved and restored state finances from special criminal activities (Pidsus) and the civil and administrative sector (Datun) reached Rp1,544,785,257,164 during the period January to December 2023.
