JAKARTA - Chairman of the Central Java Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) DPW Antonius Yogo Prabowo confirmed that PSI was not disqualified in the election contestation in Central Java, following the news of the party's deletion in Central Java.
Yogo said the disqualification at PSI only occurred in Purworejo because in the area there were no legislative candidates from the party chaired by Kaesang Pangarep.
"So it's not true that Central Java was disqualified, because we read that it seems that hoaxes and slander to PSI that were blown were that Central Java was disqualified, but not true," Yogo said in a written statement reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 1.
Yogo clarified the news that the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) disqualified PSI and could not participate in elections in Central Java Province. Even though only PSI Purworejo was disqualified.
"Please check at the KPU and Bawaslu that only Purworejo Regency was disqualified," he said.
The disqualification was given to the PSI Purworejo DPD for not reporting campaign funds. This happened because there were no legislative candidates registered in Purworejo Regency.
"Purworejo is one of the DPDs that is our special concern because there is no legislative candidate," said Yogo.

Yogo emphasized that PSI Central Java will be more solid ahead of the voting on February 14, 2024. Based on the survey he received, PSI is likely to be included in the top five parties in Central Java.
He also suspected that there were efforts to bulldoze PSI in Central Java in various ways, including the issue of disqualification in the Central Java election.
"Because to this day according to the survey and the information we got, PSI Central Java is in the top five after PDIP, Gerindra, occupied Central Java," said Yogo.
