Hashim: Prabowo Will Not Resign, It's Enough, Mr. Mahfud

Prabowo Subianto is said to have not resigned from the Minister of Defense (Menhan) despite his position as a presidential candidate in 2024.

"I will not resign," said Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party Board of Trustees, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, after attending the Consolidation of Village Gema Volunteers at the Dyandra Convention Center Surabaya, Thursday, February 1.

Hashim assessed that Prabowo did not need to follow Mahfud MD's steps, who resigned from the position of Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security (Menko Polhukam).

"There is no need to back down, it's enough, Mr. Mahfud," said Hashim.

Previously, Mahfud MD had submitted a letter of resignation from the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs to President Jokowi.

Mahfud's resignation was related to his position as a vice presidential candidate accompanying Ganjar Pranowo. The decision was to avoid conflicts of interest.
