SUKABUMI - Sukabumi City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded a loss of Rp. 100 million due to a tornado that destroyed dozens of houses in Sukabumi City on Saturday, January 27.

"From the results of the data collection carried out by the field team at the tornado disaster site in Cibeureumhilir and Limusnunggal Villages, it reached Rp. 116 million," said Sukabumi City BPBD Head Novian Rahmat in Sukabumi on Sunday, January 28.

According to Novian, the loss funds were assessed by the magnitude of the impact of disasters, such as for two houses that suffered heavy losses of Rp. 50 houses or each house with a loss of Rp. 25 million.

Then for the three houses that were damaged, the loss was Rp. 30 million or each house with a loss of Rp. 10 million and for 18 houses which were categorized as lightly damaged, the total loss was Rp. 36 million or each house was Rp. 2 million.

However, until now, his party is still verifying the damage data because the number has changed, but from the latest data collection, the number of damaged houses was 23 units. Initially, there were 31 incoming reports spread across two urban villages.

But after being verified again, there were eight housing units that initially entered the category of minor damage to be not affected or had a small impact. Therefore, BPBD is still re-data collection, then making a priority scale to distribute aid and build coordination and communication with all policy makers or other interests.

In addition, from the results of data collection on economic aspects, the impact of the tornado disaster is that none of the residents' economy is affected crucially and the wheels of the economy are not affected and are still running smoothly.

Then the social aspect is not directly disturbed considering that disaster management by joint teams from various agencies and communities is carried out quickly, orderly and well coordinated. Meanwhile, in the health aspect, no survivors are affected or have not experienced health problems for a while and can be handled.

The urgent need for the first affected residents is first assistance and the second is natural. Assistance needs to be done, especially for residents who are displaced due to their houses being heavily damaged.
