Evacuation Of Mount Climbers Who Fell Into 80 Meters Of Abyss In Argopiloso Assisted Because The Victim Was Stuck In A Tree

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Kudus Regency, Central Java, managed to evacuate a climber at the top of the Argopiloso Mountains, Japan Village, Kudus, who slipped and fell into a ravine with a depth of 80 meters. "Luckily, the victim named Robiatul Nurul Fadilah from Pulorejo Village, Purwodadi District, Grobogan Regency was caught in a tree, so he didn't fall deeper," said Head of Emergency BPBD Kudus Munaji in Kudus, Antara, Sunday, January 28. The incident occurred last Saturday at around 13.15 WIB. The victim's friend who was at the location tried to provide help with ropes from the roots and get rid of the stone that wanted to hit the victim's body. Meanwhile, other friends, some went to residential areas to ask local residents for help. The information was also forwarded to the Kudus BPBD. "We and the joint volunteers arrived at the location at around 15.00 WIB," he said. After successfully evacuating safely, the victim suffered injuries to his left leg and wounds to his lower back and abrasions. In the process of evacuating the victim, officers had difficulties because it was located in the mountains with a steep cliff. "The evacuation process starts at 04.00 WIB until 20.00 WIB," he said. Furthermore, he said, the victim was taken to the Dawe Health Center for a medical examination. Then, the victim was picked up by his family to be taken home on Saturday (27/1) night after being informed about the accident. During the climb to Puncak Wiloso, he said, there were eight people. Meanwhile, the victim's friend just returned today (28/1) after having stayed at the Kudus BPBD office.

He reminded residents who wanted to climb to monitor the latest weather, especially from the BMKG whether it was raining or not. "If it is predicted that heavy rain will fall, it should be considered again, because the road is certainly slippery," he said.
