Gibran's 4 Finger Greetings Movement Appears, Anies: Public Wants Change

Presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan, responded to the recent 4 finger greeting movement echoed on social media X. This movement narrates an invitation to the public to choose a presidential and vice presidential candidate pair other than Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

According to Anies, this movement can be interpreted as that more and more people now want to change power in the government. This is inversely proportional to the Prabowo-Gibran narrative which wants to continue the direction of President Joko Widodo's leadership.

"That's a message that we want to change. What is happening now, (the presidential and vice presidential candidates 02 seem to be associated with sustainability while the public wants change. So that is implicitly. If we interpret it, implicitly want there to be a change," said Anies in Bandung, West Java, Sunday, January 28.

On that basis, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta hopes that public support for himself and his vice presidential candidate, Muhaimin Iskandar will continue to grow.

"Maybe it moved slowly. From not wanting to be sustainable, then I don't know where to go yet, after that I slowly joined the change group," said Anies.

As is known, the 4 finger greeting movement was initiated against the background of belief that the presidential and vice presidential candidates number 2, Prabowo-Gibran, did not deserve to be chosen. The organizers of the movement assessed that there were more and more ways to force the victory of the 2024 presidential election one round for Prabowo-Gibran.

On that basis, the 4 finger greeting movement was made to invite the public to choose one of the two pairs of candidates, namely number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar or serial number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

They also reminded the public not to abstain and vote for Anies-Muhaimin or Ganjar-Mahfud to prevent Prabowo-Gibran from winning the 2024 presidential election.
