Indonesia Sabet 2 Medals at the 2026 CMAS Asian Championship

JAKARTA - The Indonesian host team managed to win two medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal, in the 2026 CMAS Asian Championship Underwater Hockey. The series of matches involving 276 athletes from seven countries officially ended at the Aquatic Centre Hotel Seruni swimming pool, Puncak, Bogor.

Two medals for Indonesia were contributed by the Cucut Underwater Hockey team in the U15 category which won the silver medal, as well as the bronze medal. The Asian level championship, which was held from 2026 to 2026, was attended by participants from Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Japan, China, and Indonesia.

In the final match of the U15 category, the Cucut Underwater Hockey team had to be content with bringing home the silver medal after failing to win from the Malaysian A Team with a final score of 4-5 in favor of the team from the neighboring country. Meanwhile, in the Elite category, the Indonesian Underwater Hockey Elite Woman team finished in third place and was entitled to a bronze medal after Janis Rosalita and her friends had not managed to win against the Philippines and only earned 3 points compared to 11 from their opponents.

General Secretary of the Indonesian Underwater Sports Association (PB POSSI) Nur Kholis who attended the last day of the 2022 Underwater Hockey Championship officially closed the series of this championship.

The U15 Underwater Hockey Cucut athlete, Raditya Javas Nararya, expressed his gratitude for the team's cooperation so that the team won the silver medal. This is a gift from us to the country in the lead-up to the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

Raditya Javas Nararya, is an athlete in the position of forward and center in the team. He also thanked the entire Polri family, especially BAINTELKAM POLRI, who had supported him as a child of a father who served in the Police to make the great Polri family proud on the international stage.

Meanwhile, in a separate place, the Chairman of the PB POSSI, Inspector General of Police. Makhruzi Rahman also expressed his gratitude and gave high appreciation to all Indonesian Underwater Hockey athletes and coaches who have tried their best for Indonesia.

He also advised all athletes to continue to train and focus on developing their skills and abilities so that in the future Underwater Hockey can make the nation's name shine in various competitions, both at home and abroad.

"Continue to practice and focus on developing your skills and abilities. We hope that in the future, Indonesian underwater hockey can be more successful and bring glory to the nation in various competitions, both at home and abroad," said Makhruzi.

Inspector General of Police Makhruzi Rahman hopes that through this Asian-level championship, the underwater hockey sport will be better known by all people in Indonesia, so that it can continue to develop and make a proud achievement in the future.
