Kaesang: Pak Jokowi's Heart And Soul Are In PSI

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep believes that President Joko Widodo's heart and body are in his party and hopes to invite his father to join the grand campaign with PSI.

"If you invite, yes, you must really want it. That's our hope; but, yes, come back again, we will join Mr. Presidentaja; but Pak Jokowi's heart and body life are at PSI," said Kaesang in a written statement reported by ANTARA, Saturday, January 27.

Kaesang said this in a campaign at Kiara Artha Park, Bandung, West Java, Friday (26/1).

However, Kaesang does not yet know whether Jokowi will take time off to "go down the mountain" campaign.

Jokowi previously spoke that the president was allowed to participate in the 2024 election campaign as long as he did not use state facilities.

"I don't know. I'm a line call, I rarely see it either. So, I don't know yet (when Jokowi is on campaign leave)," he said.

Kaesang said Jokowi was busy as head of state. Therefore, he understands that his father does not have time to participate in the campaign with PSI.

"If we hope for sure, yes, we want to invite the President to campaign for PSI. But, yes, come back again, he is busy. We have to understand," said Jokowi's youngest son.

Previously, Jokowi gave a response about a video clip showing a two-finger pose from inside the presidential car during a working visit in Salatiga, Central Java.

From the rear left side of the car window, it can be seen that someone took out his hands posing two fingers.

However, Jokowi did not answer straightforwardly who came out of the car window and posed with the two fingers. He only said if it was fun to do.

"Yes, right, it's fun. It's fun," said Jokowi at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, East Jakarta, Wednesday (24/1).

Jokowi was then asked by reporters what would be fun about it.

"Yes, I don't know, it's fun. If you meet people, it's fun," he said.
