Fulfilling The 'Police Is Not Neutral' Examination, Aiman Is Surprised: I Remind You But I Was Convicted

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the National Winning Team (TPN) Ganjar-Mahfud, Aiman Witjaksono, has fulfilled the summons for examination as a witness regarding the alleged case of spreading false news about non-neutral police in the General Election or 2024 General Election at Polda Metro Jaya. Before undergoing the examination, Aiman had expressed his surprise. When all parties, including the National Police, echo neutrality, but he was actually convicted when he reminded about his impartiality in the election contestation. "First, in the midst of the issue of neutrality that was the most discussed during the election process this time, instead I conveyed that it was actually a criminal process. This is of course a question, not only for me but also for many people," Aiman told reporters, Friday, January 26. In addition, Aiman also compared his statements in question with reports in the media. There are several national media with clarity and details reporting issues of neutrality such as Indonesian Media on 10, 11, and 18 November 2023. Then, Tempo Magazine was published on December 4, 2023, and the Tempo Bocor Alus Podcast on December 2, 2023. "What I said was also conveyed exactly and even in more detail by a number of national media," he said. It's just that, said Aiman, none of them have been prosecuted. Thus, the steps to criminalize him are strongly questioned. "This begs the question. Do these media spread false news as alleged to me? Of course the answer is no. If my process continues, it will certainly be a question. Even as a good citizen, I will continue to follow this legal process," said Aiman.

Meanwhile, in handling this case, Polda Metro Jaya found a criminal element in the form of allegations of spreading false news. The status of the case was upgraded to the investigation stage. Thus, Aiman is suspected of violating Article 14 paragraph 1 and/or Article 14 paragraph 2 and/or Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning criminal law regulations.
