TKN Happy If Jokowi Goes Down The Mountain Campaign Prabowo-Gibran

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN), Ahmad Muzani, will be happy if President Joko Widodo finally decides to go down the mountain to campaign for candidate pair number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

However, Muzani emphasized that until now Jokowi has not used his right to side and campaign for one of the presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2024 presidential election.

"We leave it entirely to President Joko Widodo (the campaign or not, ed). If he will campaign, we will be very happy and happy that he will come down the mountain," said Muzani at the TKN Media Center, Thursday, January 25.

If President Jokowi ultimately decides to take sides and not campaign for one of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates, Muzani will also respect it. Muzani remains confident that TKN can win Prabowo-Gibran in one round of the 2024 presidential election, even though Jokowi did not participate in the campaign.

"If he will remain like this, he will not campaign, we respect and we are also confident that Prabowo-Gibran can win one round," explained the Secretary-General of the Gerindra Party.

The Deputy Chairperson of the MPR also explained that Jokowi to this day only said that the existing regulations allowed a president to take sides and campaign for one of the pairs of candidates, as long as he took leave and did not use state facilities. However, the head of state, said Muzani, has not mentioned his name or made his choice.

"Pak Jokowi has not yet campaigned. Pak Jokowi only stated the provisions of the law that as a political right allows a president, a vice president, a regional head, and even a minister to campaign, but on condition," he said.
