The earthquake, which occurred on Thursday, January 25 at around 19.24 WIB, had a depth of 11 kilometers.

Daryono said the mechanism for earthquake sources showed an upward movement mechanism or thrust fault.
In its X-medsos account, BMKG reported that the earthquake was centered in the sea 47 km northwest of Mbay.
Earthquake tremors were felt on a scale (MMI) III in Ruteng, III Waingapu, III Bajawa, III Ende, III Maumere, III Labuan Bajo, II Kupang, and a scale III in Bima City.
