Jokowi Invites Tanzanian President To Plant Peace Trees At Bogor Palace, After That 4- Eyes Discussion

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) invited the President of the United Republic of Tanzania Samia Suluhu Hassan to plant a peace tree at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Thursday, January 25. The planting of a tree called Latin Barringtonia asiatica was carried out on the sidelines of a state visit by the President of Tanzania at the Bogor Palace, West Java. The Presidential Secretariat in Bogor informed that the tree planting activity was one of the routine agendas carried out by President Joko Widodo every time he received a state visit from other heads of state at the Bogor Palace. The tree planting procession is also a symbol of commitment between the two countries to carry out environmental care movements. After planting trees, the two leaders are scheduled to have a one-on-one discussion at the Bogor Palace veranda, before holding a bilateral meeting in the Oval Room, Bogor Presidential Palace. Based on information from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during this state visit, President Tanzania Samia Suluhu Hassan met with President Joko Widodo to discuss the sustainability of cooperation between the two countries. The visit was also a reply to President Jokowi's state visit to Tanzania in August last year. Previously, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pahala Mansury had also received a visit from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation in Tanzania January Makamba, on Tuesday (23/1). The meeting was focused on discussing preparations for President Tanzania's visit to Indonesia which will take place on January 24-26, 2024. The bilateral meeting was Wakamba's first meeting since he was inaugurated in January as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of East Africa Tanzania on September 1, 2023. During his visit, President Samia will bring three ministers and 131 business delegates who are engaged in multi-sectors. These business delegates will attend the Tanzania-Indonesia Business and Investment Forum on January 25 at the Mulia Hotel Jakarta. This forum is the result of collaboration with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).

Several potential cooperations in the fields of trade, investment, oil, gas, minerals, energy, blue economy, and development cooperation have been discussed at the meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and the Foreign Minister of Tanzania.
