Online Taxi Driver Killer In Semarang Sentenced To Life In Prison

Bahgastian Wahyu Kisara, a defendant in the murder of an online taxi driver in Semarang City, Central Java, Fauzy Aribammar, was sentenced to life imprisonment.

The verdict read by Chief Justice Haruno Patriadi during a trial at the Semarang District Court, Wednesday, January 24, was the same as the prosecutor's demands.

"To declare that the defendant is found guilty of violating Article 340 of the Criminal Code regarding criminal acts intentionally and with a plan to first take the lives of others," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

In their consideration, the judge said that the defendant's actions were inhumane and caused trauma to the victim's family.

In addition, he continued, the victim left his wife who was still pregnant.

Based on this decision, both the prosecutor and the defendant stated that they accepted.

Previously, Fauzy Aribammar was found dead with a number of stab wounds in the village of Jalan Mugas Dalam Raya, Semarang City, July 24, 2023.

The victim, who is an online taxi driver, turned out to be a victim of a robbery carried out by BWK.

The perpetrator had fled to Karanganyar to hide before being arrested by the police not long after the incident.
