SUKABUMI - Land landslides and ground movement hit a number of areas in Sukabumi Regency, West Java this Tuesday triggered by heavy rains that fell almost all day long.

"Although there were no casualties or injuries, the impact of the disaster apart from destroying the house also had time to cut off road access, so motorized vehicles could not pass," said Public Relations of the Sukabumi Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Sandra Fitria, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 23.

Information gathered from the local BPBD that landslides occurred in Cigadog Village, RT 01 and 05, RW 06, Bantarkalong Village, Warungkiara District.

As a result, the district road after the Cimandiri Bridge was carried away by a landslide, so that the shoulder of the road was more than 50 cm carried away by landslides.

Not far from the location, precisely in Babakancigadog Village, RT 01/06, landslides threatened a unit of a resident's house inhabited by one family head or five people.

All locations affected by landslides have received treatment.

Then the land movement disaster in Pasirbitung Village, RT 01/01, Sukajaya Village, Pabuaran District caused the Sukabumi Regency road to connect Pabuaran-Bojong to Sukajaya Village to fall by about 30 cm with a length of 30 meters and a width of 6 meters.

The land movement disaster in this area also occurred in 2016, where the soil cracked and collapsed to residential areas about 200 meters away and threatened approximately 40 houses.

Furthermore, the landslide in Halimun Village, Sirnajaya Village, Warungkiara District caused irrigation channels to be covered by landslides and the impact of the water from the irrigation canal overflowed onto the road.

Not far from the location, Warungkiara Subdistrict Disaster Management Officer (P2BK) found a number of small landslide points along the Sukabumi Regency road, precisely in Tanjakan Sidaweng, Lio Village.

A house in Cibuhung Village, RT 01/02, Mangunjaya Village, Bantargadung District, was heavily damaged by landslides, but there were no casualties or injuries in this incident.

However, the landslide covered the Sukabumi Regency road with a length of about 60 meters.

A cliff landslide as high as 5 meters with a length of 10 meters that occurred in Cicareuh Village, RT 05/02, Tamansari Village, Cikidang District, affected four houses.

Sandra said that locations affected by the disaster had received treatment, besides that emergency assistance had begun to be handed over to disaster survivors.
