Pekanbaru Rudenim Received 13 Rohingya Refugees

PekanbarU - Pekanbaru Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim) has received 13 refugees from Rohing consisting of 12 men and 1 woman who were previously under the supervision of the Dumai Class I Immigration Office.

"After the transfer of refugees from the Dumai Immigration Office, we immediately coordinated with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) of the institution which was directly supported by the United Nations Council (UN) to regulate the refugee problem," said Public Relations of the Pekanbaru Rudenim, Rizki as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 23.

According to Rizki Rudenim Pekanbaru, he has also coordinated with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and while in refugee camps, Rohingya refugees are prohibited from leaving the Rudenim.

Rudenim said he continued to carry out the rules according to standard operating procedures and while at the Pekanbaru Rudenim they were prohibited from leaving while waiting for verification from the International Organization Migration (IOM).

"Refuges are prohibited from leaving the Rudenim to prevent cases of escaping from shelters as happened some time ago, or not to cause social problems," he said.

Previously, the Dumai Class I Immigration Office transferred 13 Rohingya refugees to the Pekanbaru Rudenim, the transfer of 13 refugees was the Pekanbaru Rudenim led by the Head of Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement, Dianta Sinuraya, at the Dumai Immigration Office, Monday (22/1).
