The landslide material that blocked the connecting road in Suroteleng Village and Samiran Village, Boyolali Regency, was handled Tuesday, January 23. Four-wheeled vehicles can already cross the route.

The Head of the Boyolali Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Suratno, landslides in the Selo District occurred on Monday, January 22 to Tuesday afternoon, and vehicles could still be passed.

"However, the road that was covered by landslides, at around 14.00 WIB, could only be passed by vehicles after community service was carried out by residents to get rid of the avalanche of material that blocked the road, on Tuesday, around 14.00 WIB," said Suratno.

He said the landslide incident in Suroteleng Village occurred during heavy rains that hit the area, on Monday, January 22 at noon. Then there was a landslide that blocked the village road connecting Suroteng and Samiran villages.

He said the landslide disaster and a number of trees on the cliffs above the road were carried away by landslide material slides with an altitude of about five meters, avalanche lengths of five meters and thicknesses of about one and a half meters closed the total access road of Suroteleng Village to Selo District.

Residents immediately contacted BPBD Boyolali to ask for help so that the landslide could be immediately resolved.

From BPBD data collection, he said, heavy equipment cannot enter the route because road access is too steep and tools to transport heavy equipment to the location are also not possible. His party then coordinated with the Suroteleng Village government and community leaders who agreed to work together to get rid of the landslide.

"Alhamdulillah, this Tuesday, at 14.00 WIB, road flow can be opened and passed by four-wheeled vehicles. The landslide incident was reported to have not resulted in any casualties," he said.

Nevertheless, BPBD appealed to the public to be more vigilant and careful of the rainy season disasters, namely landslides, floods, and strong winds that often occur in this area.
