Anies Wants President Jokowi To Sanction Minister Not Neutral: If Not Sanctioned, All Violate

BOGOR - Presidential Candidate number 1 Anies Rasyid Baswedan hopes that President Joko Widodo will impose sanctions on ministers who are not neutral in the 2024 General Election.

"President (Jokowi) said it must be neutral, right? Anyone dares to oppose the order? If anyone dares, will the president be silent? If the president has said he must be neutral, don't fight the president; and if anyone disobeys the president, then impose sanctions on those who do not obey," said Anies during a grand campaign at GOR Parung, Bogor Regency, West Java, reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 22.

According to Anies, the public is waiting for the government's firmness in imposing sanctions on officials who are not neutral during the 2024 General Election.

Anies said it was necessary to explain straightforwardly about the limits that the minister should not carry out during the election.

"People are waiting. Hey, we already know, this is Forbidden, we are not allowed to enter if there is a Forbidden sign. Then if someone comes in (violates) what do we do? We will be sanctioned. What is the sanction? It's a ticket. Fix it," said Anies.

The former minister of education and culture also admitted that he was worried that holding the 2024 General Election would be destroyed when many were marked by violations without any action.

"If they are not sanctioned, what does that mean? After that the road is chaotic. Why is it chaotic? Yes, everyone violates,forbidden," he said.

Anies said that if many alleged violations were ignored, other similar acts would occur more.

"Once one violation is allowed, other violations will follow more," said the former governor of DKI Jakarta.
