Jayapura City Police Chief Kombes Victor D. Mackbon said his party had arrested four suspected perpetrators of burning a number of shop houses and health facilities belonging to Korem 172/PWY in Waena, Jayapura.

Before burning the shophouse, the perpetrators tried to burn the Toko Jaya Pratama ceiling, which is located on Jalan Raya Waena, by first burning cardboard and throwing it at the shop ceiling.
They then continued their action by throwing them while on traffic light until the community scattered. The condition was used by the perpetrators to burn shophouses around the traffic light to Jalan SPG Waena.
There were 28 buildings consisting of shop houses, official houses and health facilities belonging to Korem 172/PWY that were burned down.
"The four perpetrators detained at the Jayapura City Police Headquarters were charged with Article 187 paragraph (1), Article 170 in conjunction with Article 64 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1e of the Criminal Code concerning vandalism and arson with a maximum prison sentence of 12 years," explained the Jayapura Police Chief.
