The joint SAR team on Monday evacuated the body of a teenager who on Sunday, January 21 reportedly washed up in the Konteng River, Sedayu District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region.
According to Deputy Team Commander of the Yogyakarta Search and Rescue Team, Adi Fahroni Aziz, a teenager from Gamping District, Sleman Regency, named Fabiyan Eyar Firjatulah (13) allegedly slipped and fell into the river while playing with his friends on Sunday afternoon.
"There were two victims, one was successfully evacuated by local residents, the other was not saved," said Adi.
In an effort to find Fabiyan, Adi said, SAR officers on Sunday at 15.30 WIB followed the river in the Sedayu area using boats and other equipment up to three kilometers from the scene.
"The results are still nil, then at 17.00 WIB we planted the net, the hope is that even if it can get caught in the net," he said.
According to him, officers also operate drones to inspect watersheds in an effort to find Fabiyan.
Adi said that the teenager was found dead on Monday at 06.45 WIB in the river about 2.35 km from the initial location the victim slipped.
The Commander of the Alfa Team of the Yogyakarta Search and Rescue Office, Dwi Affandi, said that the victim's body was then taken to the PKU Gamping Hospital, Sleman.

Dwi appealed to residents, especially children, not to do activities around the river during the rainy season.
"If there is no interest in the river, there is no need to do activities around the river. When playing in the river, we still ensure safety, there needs to be a warning board or advisory board not to swim in the river," he said.
