Megawati Comes To The Ganjar Campaign Because She Remembers Her Father

PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri said the reason she attended the open campaign "People's Celebration" Ganjar Pranowo at Tegalega Square, Bandung City, West Java, Sunday, was because she served her parents, the first President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno.

"Why do I want to come to West Java right away? Because I remember my father. Don't forget him, not because of Bung Karno, my father, but because he is the leader who freed us from the occupation of 3.5 centuries," Megawati said when opening the first grand campaign oration Ganjar Pranowo in Bandung, West Java, quoted from Antara, Sunday, January 21.

Megawati emphasized that serving parents is also emphasized in religion.

The presence of the general chairman of the party bearing the head of the white-nosed bull in Ganjar Pranowo's campaign was considered a form of respect for Bung Karno's services who tried to free the country from colonialism.

"If you forget him (Soekarno), then in Islam it is said that the greater good of a child is to give extraordinary respect to his parents. Since the age of 16, he has traveled from West Java; because he believes that if the people here are given the meaning of independence, it will definitely resonate to other places," explained Megawati, who is also the 5th president of the Republic of Indonesia.

On this occasion, Megawati also inserted a message for the mass supporters of the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 3 Ganjar-Mahfud so as not to be tempted by the lure of money politics on election day.

"Later, if someone wants to pay, then is it weak or not? Promises must be kept, you know. There are three candidate leaders. Imagine, someone gives basic necessities. Yes, but thinks smart, can you continue to give basic necessities? Then where does the money come from? Let's think. If the money is a lot, what does it mean? That's what uses the letter K?" asked Mega, who immediately answered the shout of the word "corruption" from the masses present.

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia has determined three participants in the 2024 presidential election, namely the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD number 3.
