House Of Intan Jaya DPRD Member Office Burned By KKB

JAYAPURA - The official residence of a member of the Intan Jaya Regency DPRD, Central Papua Province, which is located in Mamba Village, Sugapa District, was burned by an armed criminal group (KKB) on Saturday, January 20.

The commander of the Infantry Battalion 330/Tri Dharma Task Force, Infantry Major Dedy Pungky Irawanto, in a press release received by ANTARA in Jayapura, Papua, Saturday, explained that the actions of the KKB members made at least 30 local residents frightened and came to the TNI Task Force 330/Tri Dharma to ask for protection.

"The day before there was a gun battle between the Damai Cartenz Ops Task Force and members of the KKB which resulted in the death of one Brimob personnel from the Cartenz Peace Task Force Bripda Alfandi Steve Karamoy," he explained, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, January 20.

Dedy continued that the actions taken by KKB members of Intan Jaya not only terrorized the security forces, but also targeted the local community.

"So we don't want to remain silent and immediately take firm action to prevent KKB from entering Sugapa City," he added.

He explained that KKB members also damaged facilities built by local governments and carried out terror which resulted in the security situation being not conducive.

"It is ironic, when the government tries to equalize development and improve the welfare of the people in Intan Jaya, the KKB continues to take actions that harm the community," said Dedy.

He added that the action taken by KKB members was actually a inhibiting factor in the growth rate of development and the economy in order to improve the welfare of the people in Intan Jaya Regency.
