JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate Anies Baswedan has a concrete program to build farmers' welfare. Instead of developing a food estate which is currently a National Strategic Project (PSN), Anies chose contract farming.
"In the vision, mission, and candidate pair program number 1 AMIN, it is very clear that they take sides with farmers. Anies-Muhaimin also makes farmers the first community group from the special agenda of 28 AMIN candidate pairs of welfare nodes to create farmers about, profit and can save," said the National Team Advisory Council. AMIN Awalil Rizky in an official statement received in Jakarta, Friday, January 19.
The commitment to improve the welfare of the Farmers is realized by various programs, including fertilizer assistance of Rp. 2 million per hectare per planting season, then replacement of crop failure of Rp. 10 million per hectare, and the provision of low interest loans to farmers.
Anies Baswedan will also encourage the application of the concept of cooperative farming on land which is now a food estate and damaged and unproductive land.
The AMIN Expert Council, Fadhil Hasan, added that the food estate approach must be evaluated fundamentally and thoroughly because it has a negative impact on the environment and does not empower farmers.
The same thing was also expressed by economic observer Yanuar Rizky, according to him, the concept of contract farming for the AMIN candidate pair is good for improving the welfare of farmers.
He also suggested that this contract agricultural scheme be followed by an increase in margins obtained by farmers.
