Reflecting On Malang, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Presents Halal Summit

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin accompanied by Wury Ma'ruf Amin left for Malang, East Java Province, Friday morning, to attend a number of activities at the Islamic University of Malang (Unisma) and Universitas Brawijaya (UB).

Vice President Ma'ruf and his entourage took off using the Special Boeing 737 400 Air Force (AU) Presidential Aircraft from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, East Jakarta, to the Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base at around 09.15 WIB, with an estimated travel time of 30 minutes.

Arriving in Malang at around 10.45 WIB, the Vice President was greeted by the Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Dardak and Arumi Bachsin Emil Dardak, and the ranks of the East Java Provincial Leadership Coordination Forum.

The Secretariat of the Vice President (Setwapres) in Jakarta informed that the Vice President and his entourage are scheduled to be in Malang from January 19 to 20, 2024.

Starting his visit agenda in Malang today, the Vice President attended a Public Lecture entitled "Quao Vadis Moderation of Religion in the Framework of Caring for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and the World Civilization" at the Auditorium Prof. KH Moh Tholhah Hasan, Al-Asy Round Building, Unisma.

The theme, which was raised in public lectures this time, illustrates the spirit to strengthen religious moderation in universities, one of which is Unisma, and to further improve understanding of moderate Islam and defend the country to all UNISMA academic community.

After the event, the Vice President is planned to visit Brawijaya University on Jl. Veteran Number 10-11, Ketawanggede, Lowokwaru District, Malang, to attend the Brawijaya Halal Summit, as well as the Launch of the UB Halal Center and UB Halal Metric.

Reporting from the official website of Universitas Brawijaya, Halal Summit activities aim to provide an opportunity to discuss between stakeholders to overcome current global challenges and the future to realize the Halal Ecosystem.

The panelists scheduled to attend include the Chancellor of Universitas Brawijaya Widodo, representatives of the Halal Industry Research Center International Islamic University Malaysia Irwandi Jaswir, the Halal Science Center Brawijaya representative as well as the Head of the Halal Product Guarantee Agency of the Ministry of Religion Sukoso, and representatives of the Halal Science Center Chulalongkorn University Thailand Winai Dahlan.

Meanwhile, the Halal Metric instrument which will be launched by the Vice President is an instrument used to measure the implementation of the concept of a comprehensive halal ecosystem, both in the higher education, industrial, and government sectors.

In this activity, the Vice President will hand over a number of awards from Universitas Brawijaya Halal to industry players, local governments, and academics for their work in developing halal products in Indonesia.

The Vice President's second day agenda in Malang, Saturday (20/1), closed by attending the marriage ceremony of the daughter of the Vice President's Special Staff for Political Affairs and Inter-Institutional Relations Robikin Emhas at Harris Hotel & Convention Malang.

The vice president and his entourage are scheduled to return to Jakarta on the same day at around 10.30 WIB.

Also accompanying Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in the activity were the Head of the Vice Presidential Secretariat Ahmad Erani Yustika, Deputy for Administration Sapto Harjono WS, Special Staff of the Vice President Masduki Baidlowi, M. Nasir, Masykuri Abdillah, M. Imam Azis, Zumrotul Mukafta and Arif Rahmansyah Marbun, as well as the Expert Team of the Vice President Nurdin Tampubolon, Johan Tedja and Farhat Brachma.
