Dozens Of Houses In Bondowoso Damaged By Tornadoes

BONDOWOSO - Dozens of houses in two villages in Bondowoso Regency, East Java, were destroyed by a tornado.

Even a number of residents were also injured by the rubble of their roofs.

The head of the Bondowoso Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Emergency Division, Yuliono, explained that the tornado and rain hit dozens of houses in Walidono and Cangkring villages, Prajekan District.

"Currently we are at the location collecting data. The impact of the hurricane natural disaster in these two villages is quite severe, so we are still collecting data," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 18.

According to Yuliono, the tornado occurred at around 16.00 WIB and local BPBD officers received information about the natural disaster at around 16.30 WIB from local residents.

For the time being, dozens of houses in Walidono and Cangkring villages were damaged by the impact of the tornado accompanied by rain.

Even a number of residents were injured as a result of being hit by the rubble of their roofs when a tornado hit two villages in the city of Tapi.

"There were eight reports from residents who suffered minor injuries due to a tornado. Apart from houses, many trees also fell," he said.
