Cak Imin Calls Corruption Eradication Urging For Criminalization, Regional Heads Become Targets

JAKARTA - Candidate for Vice President number one, Muhaimin Iskandar, alias Cak Imin, said that there should be no eradication of corruption related to criminalization. Because, there was news that many village heads were targeted at the moment of the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

"The eradication of corruption must be enforced and straight according to the rules so that there is no enforcement of corruption related to criminalization," said Cak Imin at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Wednesday, January 17.

According to him, news can be heard in his ears if many village heads experience threats of criminalization. The shape seems to be eradicating corruption.

"I received news that there are several, many village heads are experiencing the threat of criminalizing acts such as eradicating corruption," he said.

Therefore, Cak Imin emphasized that the eradication of corruption must comply with the rules. That way there will be no criminalization of anyone.

"This should not happen ahead of the election, please, there will be no eradication of corruption based on criminalization," said Imin.

Previously, the Head of the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar National Law Team, Ari Yusuf Amir, claimed to be aware of the politicization of the village head for the political interests of the presidential and vice presidential candidates number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"It is reasonable to suspect that the village head will direct his residents to support candidate pair 02, as is the fact that there was a united village meeting in Jakarta, and the meeting of village heads in Maluku, both of which were held by candidate pair 02," said Ari at the AMIN Winning Headquarters.

Then, Ari believes that there is a pattern of criminalization against village heads who do not want to take sides. Ari accused the village head who maintains his neutrality to be criminalized by certain parties with threats of law enforcement.

"We believe that many of our village heads are good, honest, and devoted to their villages. But in budget management, there may be administrative errors," said Ari.

"This is what law enforcement officials use to suppress them by criminalizing them so that they follow their wishes to support one of the candidate pairs," he continued.
