Presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan, explained his commitment with vice presidential candidate Muhaimin Iskandar regarding the eradication of corruption.

One of Anies' commitments is to optimize the submission of state administrators' assets reports (LHKPN) to all state officials to the KPK.

As stated by the KPK leadership, Anies agrees that there are sanctions for officials who do not periodically report LHKPN. One of the sanctions that Anies wants to apply is demotion or demotion to officials who are absent from reporting LHKPN.

"We agree that if it is not implemented, then demonstrations, even repositions, or other sanctions can be carried out," said Anies at the KPK Integrity Paku event which was attended by three presidential and vice-presidential candidate pairs at the KPK building, Kuningan, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 17.

Not only that, Anies also promised to revise the KPK Law which has been disputed by a number of parties.

"We want to restore the KPK to be legally authoritative again like before and this means revising the KPK law. We want this revision to turn the KPK into a strong position," explained Anies.

Then, Anies also wants to apply high ethical standards within the KPK. Not only that, but Anies also plans to give a decent gift to corrupt hunters.

"So that not only officers from the KPK, the police, and the prosecutor's office are hunting for corruptors, but all those who report hunting for them get equal rewards," he explained.

At the same event, previously the Chairperson of the KPK, Nawawi Pamolango, asked for the commitment of the elected president and vice president to later impose strict sanctions on public officials who do not comply with the LHKPN.

"KPK asks for a real commitment from the presidential and vice-presidential candidates when later elected to strengthen the role of LHKPN by imposing sanctions in the form of dismissal from public office to assistant presidents or agency leaders whose institutions do not comply with the obligation to convey LHKPN in full," said Nawawi.

Likewise, continued Nawawi, the sanction of dismissal of public officials or state administrators if the LHKPN examination shows that there are hidden assets.

"We ask that the elected president and vice president will later make LHKPN and the results of the LHKPN examination as one of the criteria for promoting the appointment of public office," said Nawawi.

Based on KPK data, Nawawi revealed that the complete submission of LHKPN was ignored by around 10,000 out of 371,000 state administrators. Thus, Nawawi emphasized that strict sanctions are important because so far LHKPN is only considered administrative.
