Former Kuansing Regent Andi Putra Free Of Condition

PeKANBARU - Former Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing), Riau Province, Andi Putra received parole (PB) after serving a sentence for a corruption case after previously being sentenced to four years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million. Head of Sub-Section for Administration and Treatment of Pekanbaru Class I Rutan Rizqi Putra Sandika confirmed the parole received by Andi Putra. He ensured that all requirements had been met before Andi Putra's release was finally approved. "For requirements, which are clear if we have served half a sentence, we must propose. Conditional release is right at two-thirds of the sentence," he said in Pekanbaru, Antara, Wednesday, January 17. Andi Putra was found guilty of accepting bribes related to the processing of a business rights permit (HGU) for PT Adimulia Agrolestari's oil palm plantation (AA) amounting to Rp500 million. Andi Putra's conditional release was approved on November 24, 2023 by the Director General of Corrections on behalf of the Minister of Law and Human Rights. Andi Putra was expelled from the Pekanbaru Class I Detention Center after serving 2/3 of the sentences set by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, with the guarantor of the core family Andi Putra, namely his wife or parents. In addition, he also ensured that Andi Putra had paid his obligations according to the judge's decision, and his party had directly checked the evidence for receipts for payment of fines. However, even though he has been released, Andi Putra is still obliged to report at the Pekanbaru Class II Correctional Center (Bapas) because he is undergoing this conditional release, there are still remaining criminal penalties. "Not yet pure free. Approximately one year and four months and six days remaining," said Rizqi. In addition, Andi Putra's release could be revoked if during his conditional release he made a mistake, either the same or different. "This means that during his PB he must behave well, according to the applicable conditions," he said.

When he was expelled from the Andi Putra Rutan, his family picked him up. However, Rizqi did not receive any information on where Andi Putra was after receiving PB and leaving the detention center.
