Ensure Construction Continues, Jokowi Returns To Sambangi IKN

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) returned to visit the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, Wednesday, January 17, to ensure construction runs on time.

In addition, Jokowi also carried out the laying of the first stone or groundbreaking of a number of infrastructure projects.

Jokowi and his entourage used the Indonesian presidential plane-1 and took off from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, at around 06.30 WIB.

After arriving at Sultan Aji Mahmud Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport, Balikpapan, Jokowi took the Indonesian Air Force Super Puma helicopter to go to IKN.

At IKN, Jokowi is scheduled to lay the first stone for a number of infrastructure projects.

Previously, Jokowi had stated his intention to periodically review the progress of the IKN development, ensure that the project runs according to the target, and IKN can be used on the commemoration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2024.

President Jokowi was accompanied by Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir and member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) Gandi Sulistiyanto during this working visit.
