Surakarta City Government Draft Draft Circular Of Dog Meat Trade

Surakarta City Government (Pemkot) compiled a draft circular (SE) related to the dog meat trade which is still available in several locations in Solo. Head of the Surakarta City Agriculture, Food Security and Fisheries Service, Eko Nugroho Isbandijarso, said several things included in the draft, one of which was an appeal for consumer protection against the dangers of eating non-food food. "However, this still needs further discussion. This is in a process that is being discussed in parallel. We cannot yet know when it will be completed," he said in Solo, Central Java, Antara, Tuesday, January 16. He said that after the preparation of the SE, it would then be submitted to the Mayor of Surakarta, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and the Deputy Mayor of Surakarta, Teguh Prakosa. Meanwhile, he prepared the SE because there was a SE Director General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Service of Central Java Province. "This is our basis for following up," he said. He told SE from the province that it also lists the sale and consumption of dog meat, including not to sell and not to eat dog meat. "In addition, from regencies/cities so as not to issue a dog health certificate for consumption, and not to make a certificate of dog meat products," he said. On the same occasion, the Regional Secretary of Surakarta City, Budi Murtono, said that the ban on the sale and consumption of dog meat was still an appeal. "There is some input from regional apparatus organizations, we will try to formulate the results later. Next, we will report it to the guardian and the deputy," he said.

Related to this, he admitted that there was no urgency in the preparation of the SE. "We give more advice to the public regarding what healthy and safe foods are because this dog meat enters into unsafe foods," he said.
