RF Code Car Still Roaming, Passing In Front Of Police But Not Acted

JAKARTA - The use of special RF code number plates is still installed in a number of vehicles passing on the road section of the Central Jakarta area. In fact, the use of the RF code plate was removed in October 2023 by the Director of Motor Vehicle Registration and Identification (Dirregident) Korlantas Polri, Brigadier General Yusri Yunus.

In this regard, one of the drivers in Central Jakarta recorded a black sedan with a special RF number plate, driving in front of him.

"Yes, on the way from Kemayoran to Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta, I saw a black sedan wearing a special RF number plate in front of me," said Ritonga, Tuesday, January 16.

In fact, said Ritonga, the special number plate code was no longer allowed to be used. But he wondered why someone was still wearing it. Especially when the vehicle passed by, it was seen that a police officer was on guard, but the officer did not take action against it.

"Yes, when I passed the red light, there was a police officer, but just let it go," he said.

The number plate is also said to have expired, when viewed from the date and year.

"On the plate it looks like it's 23, it means it's dead, right. Dare too, the driver," he said.

Ritonga also hopes that the police can take action regarding the use of special number plates that are no longer enforced. The reason is, the use of special plates often perform reckless actions on the road just because they use special plates.

The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police has changed the special number plate code intended for officials. Now, the code used is no longer RF but Z.

"I changed the number. For a special number in front of Z," said the Director of the Police Traffic Corps Reident, Brigadier General Yusri Yunus, to reporters, Thursday, June 22.

The special vehicle number plates are intended for state officials and the TNI-Polri who are included in the echelon 1 and 2 categories.

This change in the special plate code is also a follow-up to the order of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to regulate its use.

As quoted from humas.polri, the Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police (Korlantas Polri) stated that the RF number plate had not been valid since November 2023. If anyone is still using the plate, it has been confirmed that it is fake as explained by the Director of Registration and Identification (Dirregident) of Korlantas Polri Brigadier General Yusri Yunusnya.

"Many complaints from the public still find RF until 2023-2024, I emphasize, month 11 (November) 2023 stops, no one uses it anymore," said Brigadier General Police Yusri Yunusnya.
