Hassan Nasrallah Says the Key to Tensions in the Red Sea, Lebanon and Iraq is Stopping Israeli Aggression in Gaza

JAKARTA - Leader of the militant group Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah said in his televised speech that the United States must understand all the violence in the region, related to Israel's invasion in the war against Hamas in Gaza.

Nasrallah said an envoy had been sent to Lebanon trying to "quench" the Lebanese front by warning that if the group did not stop its attacks "Israel would launch war on Lebanon."

Although he did not identify the envoy, Hassan Nasrallah said the Lebanese front's aim was to "stop aggression against Gaza."

The United States must understand "that the security of the Red Sea and calm in Lebanon, the situation in Iraq, and all developments in the region are related to one thing: stopping aggression against Gaza," stressed Nasrallah, quoted from The Times of Israel, January 15.

"You try to deal with the consequences and the results, fix the reasons," he said.

Nasrallah was speaking to commemorate the death anniversary of a top Hezbollah commander, Wissam Tawil, who was killed in southern Lebanon last week, the most senior Hezbollah commander killed in the three-month conflict with Israel.

Previously, Nasrallah promised to continue confrontation with Israeli troops in the border areas of the two countries, until the attacks on Gaza were stopped and there was a ceasefire.

He said, "only a ceasefire in Gaza" would open up the possibility of ending the firefight on the Lebanon-Israel border, as reported by CNN.

"We'll see what happens after that," he added.
