JAKARTA - The Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP) today will examine expert witnesses in the trial of the examination of four cases of alleged violations of the Election Organizer Code of Ethics (KEPP) involving the chairman and members of the Indonesian KPU, Monday, January 15.
"The main agenda for the third trial is to hear the Expert Witness presented by DKPP at the request of the Complaints," said DKPP Secretary David Yama in his official statement.
The trial will be held in the Jakarta DKPP Session Room at 10.00 WIB, Monday 15 January 2024.
The four defendants complained against the Chairman and six members of the Indonesian KPU, namely Hasyim Asy'ari, Betty Epsilon Idroos, Mochammad Affifudin, Persadaan Harahap, Yulianto Sudrajat, Idham Holik, and August Mellaz.
The chairman and member of the Indonesian KPU were complained about having accepted the registration of Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the Vice Presidential Candidate on October 25, 2023.
According to the complainants, this is not in accordance with KPU Regulation Number 19 of 2023 concerning Candidates for the Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections because the Defendants have not revised or changed the regulations related to the Constitutional Court Decision Number 90/PUU-XXI/2023.
David added that he had summoned the parties properly in accordance with the provisions of Article 22 paragraph (1) of the DKPP Regulation Number 3 of 2017 concerning Guidelines for Celebrating the Election Organizer Code of Ethics.
"The DKPP Secretariat has properly summoned all parties, namely five days before the examination hearing is held," explained David.
