North Halmahera Regency Government Has Not Paid The Village Head's Salaries, Some Are Even Retired

MALUT - The Department of Community and Village Empowerment (DPMD) of North Halmahera Regency in North Maluku (Malut) admits that it has not paid the rights of a number of village heads (kades) whose term of office has ended in 2023, until the end of the 2023 APBD budget book.

"Of course, with the right of the village head has not been paid, this is the debt of the North Halmahera Regency Government and the arrears vary with the range of three to the month and even," said Head of DPMD North Halmahera, Naftali Gita, when contacted, in Ternate, North Maluku, Sunday, January 14, quoted by Antara.

Naftali claimed Regent Frans Manery had offered to pay off the rights or salaries of the village head, but was rejected by the village heads on the grounds that there would be jealousy from the staff and BPD members in their respective villages.

"Currently, there are 48 village heads whose rights have not been paid and are likely to be paid this year, because they have become priority items from the regional government regarding the repayment," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Commission III of the DPRD of North Halmahera Regency, Sahril, said that there was no reason for the Regency Government to postpone the payment of the rights of the village heads because there was no regulation to postpone payments or slides.

"With the salaries of village heads and village officials, RT, RW, BPD, hamlets, especially since the positions of village heads whose terms of office have ended are not regulated in the financing scheme in the 2024 APBD body trunks," said Sahril.

According to him, the Regency Government and the DPRD must sit down together to find solutions related to the innate estimated debt in the 2024 APBD budget year.

"The Regent of North Halmahera through the head of the Regional Secretary's TAPD Team must take concrete steps because expenditure financing and financing income does not include the salaries of village heads and devices. Don't take it lightly and don't make it easy for something that doesn't have a basis. Maybe in Indonesia, only in the North Halmahera government, the term of office of the village head has ended but the salary has not been paid," he said.

The village head's salary until the village apparatus is included in the routine shopping category, he said, because there is no basis or reason to be oriented into congenital debt or debt slide for the 2023 APBD budget year to the 2024 APBD budget year.
