Anies Prays For KH Bisri's Cicit Syansuri Muhaimin To Be Vice President

Presidential Candidate Anies Baswedan said the late KH Bisri Syansuri was an important part of the history of the struggle of the Indonesian people in the period before Indonesia's independence.

"We witnessed the struggle of KH Bisri Syansuri to establish a women's Islamic boarding school in Indonesian history. Anies made this statement while attending the 45th Anniversary of KH. M. Bisri Syansuri, Nyai Hj. He explained that Kiai Bisri's grandson had become President of Indonesia, namely Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur, so he hoped that the deceased's great-grandson, namely Vice President Muhaimin Iskandar or Gus Muhaimin, could become vice president.

"God willing, the struggle for Indonesia is connected," said the former governor of DKI Jakarta.

While attending the event, Anies also prayed for the ulama, the people who were present. Anies also mentioned them one by one on the sidelines conveying their vision and mission about the idea of a change that was echoed.

"Hopefully February 14 could be the day of Indonesia's change. The extraordinary economic pressure experienced by families in Indonesia is getting better. We want Indonesia to be just prosperous for all, not just a prosperous Indonesia for part," said the former Minister of Education and Culture.

Anies explained that he and Muhaimin 26 years ago were campus activists who opposed the power of the new order (orba).
