Saudi Arabia Denies Reports Of The Arrival Of Foreign Forces On Its Base

Spokesman for Turkey's Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense Al-Mallki denied reports of foreign troops arriving at the country's military base.

According to Saiudi Al Arabiya television channel and Saudi newspaper Al Riyadh, Al-Malki said "Rumor about the arrival of foreign troops at King Fahd Air Base in Taif is baseless," without providing further details, reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Saturday, January 13.

The report coincided with a joint statement from 10 countries, issued by the White House, in response to the Houthis' attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea.

The White House statement includes from the Netherlands, Canada, Bahrain, and Australia as well as the US and Britain.

In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, in its response to US and UK attacks on Yemen, stressed its "essential to maintaining security and stability in the Red Sea region" and called on all parties to exercise restraint and avoid escalation.
