JAKARTA - The National Team for Winning Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMEN National Team) requested that the security forces be neutral in the 2024 presidential election.

"We from the AMIN national team ask that the officers and officers be neutral because this is an order of the Election Law and Law," said AMIN National Team Spokesperson Iwan Tarigan in a written statement reported by ANTARA, Saturday, January 13.

Iwan made this statement in response to the AMIN campaign committee in Gresik, East Java, which allegedly received intimidation from officials.

Iwan said the neutrality of legal apparatus included in the state civil apparatus (ASN) is regulated in three laws at once, one of which is Law Number 5 Article 2 letter F of 2014 which states that every ASN must be neutral and free from political intervention.

In addition, according to him, the main task of the legal apparatus is to ensure the safety and smooth running of the election process so that it runs safely and peacefully.

"In a match or in the 2024 election, neutrality must be enforced. So all must be neutral, giving people the opportunity to choose. The people should not be afraid, and that is what security forces are for," said Iwan.

Earlier on Friday (12/1), vice presidential candidate Muhaimin Iskandar (Gus Imin) said that he received a report from a committee in Gresik, East Java who was visited and scolded by officers for inviting him.
