West Jakarta Floods Recede Quickly, Anies: Thank You Officers, Head Of RT, And Head Of RW

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan appreciates the performance of his staff in overcoming the 2021 Jakarta floods. One of them is the officer who is swift to siphon water to return it to Mookevart River.

So, said Anies Baswedan, the Rawa Buaya area of West Jakarta, which was inundated by water, would dry out quickly. Because, usually the floods that hit this area for a long time.

"I thank the officers and the Head of Neighbourhood Association (RT), the Head of Community Association (RW), they are not visible in front of the camera, and they work day and night to ensure that this place recedes as stated by the Head of RW, usually 5 days for receding, this time less than 24 hours all receded,” said Anies in an official statement, Jakarta, Monday, February 22.

As for Anies Baswedan and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Province, Ahmad Riza Patria this morning directly observed the post-flood handling in the RT 02 RW 01 of Rawa Buaya Village, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.

Governor Anies started his review by visiting the Refugee Command Post RT 02 RW 01 which looked deserted because residents had gradually returned to their homes. Furthermore, Governor Anies also reviewed the process of suctioning water by a pump that flows from the Rawa Buaya area back to the Mookervart River.

"The Deputy Governor and I reviewed the conditions in RT 02 RW 01 of Rawa Buaya Sub-district which yesterday received an overflow of water from the Mookevart River, and then once Mookevart returned to normal, massive pumping was carried out," explained Governor Anies.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, through the West Jakarta Administrative City Government, deployed 24 pumps to send the inundation in the Rawa Buaya area back to Mookervart River, so that on Monday morning the inundation conditions receded and residents could carry out activities as before.

Meanwhile, the head of RW 01 Rawa Buaya, Arif M. Sahri, appreciated the performance of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government who was quick in returning the water back to Mookervart River so that the puddle in Rawa Buaya could quickly recede and make residents return to their normal activities.

"Alhamdulillah, the handling of this year is extraordinary, the government is quick with the Governor, the Mayor, and other Civil State Apparatus, which was previously between Rawa Buaya dry for 4-5 days, now it is 1x24 hours dry," he concluded.
