TANGERANG Sunarya, a middle-aged man in Serpong, South Tangerang, faced a gang of motorcycle thieves armed with firearms and machetes, Wednesday night, January 10. Sunarya tried to thwart a robbery, but unfortunately she suffered a wound to her stomach due to being stabbed in a sickle by one of the perpetrators.

Sunarya was lying covered in blood on Jalan Roda Hias, Serpong District, South Tangerang City. Local residents who knew about the incident tried to help Sunarya take him to the South Tangerang Regional General Hospital (RSUD).

Head of Public Relations of the South Tangerang Police, Iptu Wendi, confirmed the incident. Wendi explained that the incident began when the head of the local RT, the Supreme Court, suspected that 4 youths were riding 2 motorbikes. MA tried to follow and meet another witness with the initials MH.

When the perpetrator stopped at a shop, one of the perpetrators got off the motorbike and tried to take the motorbike he was after. However, the actions of the perpetrators were thwarted by local residents.

Sunarya, who was buying rice at that time, heard the screams 'thief'. He also saw the gang of perpetrators running towards him. Suddenly Sunarya took action by kicking one of the perpetrator's motorbikes.

However, the perpetrator attacked Sunarya with a sharp weapon. Sunarya fell with a wound to the stomach. The perpetrator managed to escape.

The victim tried to prevent the perpetrator, but the perpetrator took out a sharp weapon and then grabbed Sunarya in the stomach and the victim fell. The victim was taken to the South Tangerang Hospital. The incident is currently being handled by the Serpong Police," he said.

Masij explained that Wendi, when the perpetrator attacked Sunarya, another resident tried to arrest her. But suddenly, another perpetrator fired a firearm (senpi). Residents were scared, and the perpetrators freely fled.

"They shouted at the perpetrator and when they were about to arrest the perpetrator, suddenly the perpetrator took out a firearm. The perpetrator managed to escape," he said.

The case is being investigated by the Serpong Police.
