Anies Will Evaluate IKN If He Wins The Presidential Election, Alludes To The Urge For The Main Needs Of Citizens

JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan will evaluate IKN if he wins the 2024 presidential election. For Anies, the IKN budget can be allocated for the main needs of people's lives.

"What has been running (IKN project), we will call all stakeholders on how to manage so that what is being done there does not cause harm," said Anies in Samarinda, Thursday, January 11.

Anies said a very large budget for IKN development could be allocated to the needs of the community, such as the construction of railroads, public transportation, health and education.

"Imagine building railroads from Pontianak to here (Samarinda) is needed for IDR 22 trillion, IDR 22 trillion is much smaller than more than 400 trillion to build an IKN," said Anies.

The former governor of DKI Jakarta also assessed that the construction of railroads, health services and education was more needed by the people of Kalimantan than IKN.

"Our budget is limited, let's use the budget to build what is actually needed by the community in Kalimantan. One of them is that we plan to build railway lines from Pontianak, Palangkaraya, Banjar, Balikpapan, Samarinda to the top. Then the school is damaged, health is much more important," explained Anies.

With the connectivity of public transportation such as trains, it is believed that the economy in East Kalimantan will grow.
