Ganjar-Mahfud Labor Prosperous Commitment

JAKARTA - Candidate pairs for president and vice president number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md are committed to the welfare of workers in Indonesia.

This was conveyed by Ganjar when he visited a labor house in Jagapura Village, Kersana District, Brebes, Central Java, Wednesday, January 10.

There, Ganjar received complaints regarding labor issues, ranging from the issue of labor wages to the revision of the Job Creation Law. Ganjar emphasized that he and vice presidential candidate Mahfud Md already have a commitment to the welfare of workers.

"So, actually they convey these worries and worries and they really hope that the government will play a role in dealing with them," said Ganjar as quoted by ANTARA.

Therefore, Ganjar ensures that he will continue to provide concrete steps for justice for workers by making a fair wage formula for workers to seek agreement in the Job Creation Law.

In addition, Ganjar also asked for input related to regulations that according to workers were impartial and encouraged them to make formulas so that in the future they could become considerations.

Meanwhile, the President of the Confederation of All Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPSI) Andi Gani Nena Wea said there were several things that the workers discussed with Ganjar Pranowo.

For example, the revision of the Job Creation Law, the wage system returned to Decent Living Needs (KHL) with a need survey, and outsourced issues that are limited in the type of work and time limit.

"Then, with Mas Ganjar, workers also discussed the issue of tightened layoffs with strict rules, strict restrictions on foreign workers who do not have special expertise, as well as various guarantees for workers, including housing guarantees for workers, health insurance, and education guarantees," said Andi Gani.

Andi assessed that Ganjar's standing attitude with the workers was expected to be consistent even if he was later elected in the 2024 General Election. He also provided input on employment for the 5th presidential candidate debate material with the theme Employment to Ganjar Pranowo.

"I provide input on the need to revise several labor regulations that are detrimental to workers in the 5th debate," he said.
