PLN Cut Off Electricity Of Makassar Satpol PP-Trade Office Due To Late Payments, Acting Mayor Said This

MAKASSAR - PLN cut off electricity at the Makassar City Trade Office and Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) because of one month in arrears. Acting Mayor of Makassar Rudy Djamaluddin asked related agencies to anticipate payment patterns so that incidents do not repeat themselves.

"What I always say is the problem of arrears at the beginning of the month, last year it was like that, always, every year. That's why I say don't get used to such a problem, it has to be anticipated, because it's always a habit," Rudy Djamaluddin told reporters on Monday, February 22nd.

Rudy mentioned the delay in paying PLN bills happens every year. The reason is that the 2021 budget is still in the process of disbursement.

"Every year there is a delay. The APBD (Local Government Budget) in the running year can be used, almost rarely it can be used immediately on January 1, so that is the bureaucracy, if it is not illegal, the money cannot be used, even though the money is there. So we have to find a way out, that's my opinion, if necessary there will be no such problem anymore next year," continued Rudy.

PLN cut off electricity at the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol-PP) and Makassar City Trade Office.

The power cut was carried out because the Trade Office and Civil Service Police Unit offices had been in arrears to pay usage charges for a month.

Previously, the head of the Makassar City Trade Office, Muh Yasir, admitted that he was surprised because it was only this year that PT. PLN had cut off the electricity after being in arrears for one month. The delay in payment is said due to the 2021 budget disbursement is still in the process.

"We do not know why it was cut off because we have written to PLN not to revoke electricity due to the ongoing 2021 budget," he said.
