KIP Guarantees KPPS Officers To Receive Health And Life Insurance

ACEH - The Independent Election Commission (KIP) of Aceh Province ensures that every election officer, especially the polling group (KPPS) is given health insurance and life insurance. Deputy Chairperson of the Aceh Province KIP Agusni AH said the health guarantee was a form of protection because KPPS officers were at the forefront of the 2024 General Election. "Certaining protection for KPPS officers includes health insurance and life insurance," said Agusni AH in Banda Aceh, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, January 10. Currently, the recruitment stage for KPPS members is still in process. For Aceh, the number of special election officers for the recruited KPPS is 112,322 people. They serve a permanent voter list (DPT) in Aceh which reaches 3.74 million people. "Those elected will serve in 16,046 polling stations or polling stations spread across 6,499 gampongs or villages in 299 sub-districts in 23 urban districts in Aceh Province," Agusni AH said. In the implementation of recruitment, continued Agusni AH, each candidate for KPPS is required to undergo a medical examination to ensure that there are no congenital or comorbid diseases. Health checks include blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, and others. "The health checks also include screening of every officer. The goal is to anticipate that there are officers who are sick or die while on duty. Moreover, the task of KPPS members is quite heavy," said Agusni AH. The 2024 election consists of the election of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Republic of Indonesia as well as the election of members of the provincial House of Representatives and the city district of the House of Representatives. The legislative election is scheduled for February 14, 2024. The legislative election is held simultaneously with the election of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.

The legislative elections in Aceh, apart from being followed by national political parties, there are also six local political parties, namely the Nanggroe Aceh Party (PNA), the Atjeh Beusaboh Tha'at Atjeh Party (Gabthat), the Darul Aceh Party (PDA), the Aceh Party (PA), the Aceh Prosperous Justice Party (PAS), the Aceh People's Independent Solidarity Party (SIRA).
