JAKARTA - The Class I Detention Center of Cipinang Jakarta, East Jakarta officially has the Darul At-Taubah Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) which was completed on Tuesday, January 9.

Head of the Regional Office (Kakanwil) of the DKI Jakarta Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ibnu Chaldun, said that the boarding school has various santri programs, namely Tahfidz Qur'an, Tahsin Qur'an, Tahfidz hadiths, and a study of the yellow book.

"The response also has additional programs including hadroh training and funeral management training," Ibnu told reporters, Tuesday, January 9.

Currently, he continued, there are 40 Correctional Inmates (WBP) who have been confirmed to be students.

"In the initial stage, there were 40 assessment students, and later the three months will be evaluated about the teaching process, about its understanding, and the scientific level, from the evaluation later from the Ministry of Religion office to provide certification," he said.

It is said that the first Islamic boarding school in Jakarta has been accredited at the office of the East Jakarta Ministry of Religion. Then the curriculum and lecturers have been verified by the Head of Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion.

"Based on this accreditation, the level of religious education programs in Islamic boarding schools is really under the leadership under the control and control of the DKI Jakarta Ministry of Religion", he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Ministry of Religion of DKI Jakarta Province, Cecep Khairul Anwar, stated that his party hopes that the WBP who are members and their detention period after being able to practice knowledge during learning at the Islamic Boarding School.

"At least getting out of the detention center can improve morals and practice their knowledge and be accepted back in the eyes of the general public. It can be used as a ustaz," he said.
